Challenge
MIC Worldwide was requested to assist a major international tech company that suspected that kickbacks were being demanded by members of their marketing team to third-party suppliers who were providing services to the company.
Solution
While the initial suspicion was focused on one particular member of the purchasing department, the investigation quickly determined that kickbacks were being made to every member of the purchasing department, as well as the marketing and sales departments.
Extensive interviews were conducted of employees and third-party suppliers.
Results
It was determined that roughly 90% of the relationships with outside suppliers were affected by these kickback schemes.
Management was advised and a decision was made to terminate all employees involved and end relationships with the affected suppliers.
